Eighth Grade Arts Expo Celebrates Student Artwork, Music, and Writing

Eighth grade artistic talent and creativity were on display at the Class of 2016 Arts Expo on May 16 in the Great Hall. Families, friends, and the seventh grade turned out to view artwork and applaud performances, including original student musical compositions and readings by eighth grade writers. A total of 58 students participated in the evening, which provided “an excellent forum for students to perform and display some of their many creative endeavors,” notes Jennifer Carnevale, middle school music coordinator. “We’ve found in past years that this project and this evening become a favorite milestone in the students’ memories. As students work collaboratively and cooperatively on this project over the course of nearly five months, they learn much about themselves and working with others. It is with great pride that they presented the fruits of their labor.” Photos by Bruce Robbins
