News From Masters
Both the boys' and girls' varsity cross-country teams performed well at the New England Prep School Track Association (NEPSTA) Division III championships on November 11 at the Rivers School in Weston, Massachusetts.
Sabian Grier, a sophomore, placed eighth out of 152 runners in the boys' division, while Brenna Hazen, a freshman, took 16th out of 157 runners in the girls' division.
Logan Schiciano, Oliver Campbell, Michael Van Demark, Michael Garcia and Max Levy also competed for the boys' squad, which finished 13th out of 22 teams. Elizabeth Mitchell, Vasilisa Ioukhnovets, Gillian McCourt and Emma Goodman teamed up with Hazen to spur the girls to a 16th place finish out of 22 teams.
The Panthers also excelled at the Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA) championships on October 31 at Waveny Park in New Canaan, Connecticut. Grier placed fourth out of 49 runners to power the boys. Schiciano, a freshman, impressed with a 19th place finish. Campbell, Van Demark, Garcia, Levy and Jonas Abady also contributed to a strong team effort, as Masters took fourth overall.
For the girls, Haven led the way with a seventh-place finish out of 50 competitors. Mitchell, Ioukhnovets, Goodman and Amina Choudhry also helped to guide the Panthers to a fifth-place finish in the team standings.
