      Social Justice Saturday Summit

      Sponsored by Rye Country Day and The Masters School

       

      The Social Justice Saturday Summit will be an interactive full-day conference (with lunch, dinner and a student dance) for local independent school students (grades 8-12) and accompanying faculty. The summit will explore and examine the important roles that diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice play both in and outside of our school communities.

      Itinerary (Tentative)

      9:30-10 am                       Registration

      10:00-10:20 am               Welcome and introductions (include Community Norms)

      10:30-11:25 am               Separate Student and adult Affinity Groups (session 1)- led by faculty

      11:30-12:25 pm               Separate Student and adult Workshop I- (Student AG, led by students with faculty leader)

      12:30-1:00 pm                 Lunch (All)

      1:10-1:55 pm                   Speaker (All)

      2:00-2:55 pm                   Separate Student and adult Affinity Groups (session 2)- Student AG(s) led by students & faculty

      3:00-3:55 pm                   Workshop 2 (Students and Adults separate workshops)

      3:55-4:05 pm                   Break

      4:10-5:00 pm                   Spoken word

      5:00-5:40 pm                   Dinner

      6:00-8:00 pm                   Dance
