A sampling of Parent Association programs, events, and activities is listed below. Please check the school calendar, the website, and weekly email blasts for updates and additional information. 

Morning Meetings

These monthly sessions give parents a chance to drop in for coffee and informal conversation with other parents. Morning Meetings start at 8:00 a.m. on the first Thursday of every month from October through May. These “drop-in” events, which are held in the Alumnae/i Room on the second floor of Masters Hall, offer time for parents to chat, learn about upcoming events, and hear from special guest speakers ranging from faculty to support staff.

Parent Jeans Night

Jeans Night, which is held in Estherwood Mansion, is the PA’s signature event that kicks off the school year. Parents get together “just for fun”—but don’t let that simple phrase fool you: it’s at these parties that new friendships are made, acquaintances deepened, and insights shared with parents and faculty alike. Just like the kids do on their “Jeans Days,” we get to wear jeans—or simply “dress down”—and donate a dollar to the worthy cause the school supports for that day. This potluck hors d’oeuvres and dessert event draws parents from both the middle and upper schools for an evening of camaraderie.

PA Educational Evenings

At these gatherings, parents join with administrators and faculty to hear expert speakers discuss issues of vital importance to you and your child. In past years, for example, we have had the opportunity to interact with experts on Internet use, alcohol and drug issues, and different learning styles.

Junior/Senior Parent College Night

Each year, parents of seniors take time to share advice about the college process with parents of juniors during an evening at Estherwood Mansion that opens with an overview by the School’s Director of College Counseling.

Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day

Everything from home-baked goods to specialty coffees highlight Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day, where parents recognize teachers, administrators, and staff members by hosting a sumptuous breakfast in the both the upper school and middle school faculty rooms.

PA Wine and Cheese Party

This end-of-year event brings together parents, administrators, and faculty for one last relaxing evening of fun before summer vacation begins.
