Westchester Poetry Festival Coming Up

Acclaimed poet and memoirist Reginald Dwayne Betts will deliver the keynote reading at the eighth annual Westchester Poetry Festival, which will take place from 1:00-5:00 PM on Saturday, April 21 in Estherwood Mansion.

The festival, which is co-sponsored by Masters and The Hudson Valley Writers' Center, will also feature readings by several Masters students, as well as by the poets Chris Campanioni, Andrés Cerpa, Alessandra Lynch, Nicole Sealey and Anya Krugovoy Silver. Social justice will be the theme of this year's festival.

Mr. Betts is the author of the poetry collection, Shahid Reads His Own Palm. He received the 2010 NAACP Image Award for non-fiction for A Question of Freedom: A Memoir of Learning, Survival and Coming of Age in Prison.
