The Middle School seeks an English teacher that is flexible and collaborative in their planning, teaching, and assessing and helps students take an active role in and responsibility for their own learning.

The Middle School has 175 students and 30 faculty and staff. Our Middle School’s educational philosophy sets us apart from other schools. Fifth grade boys and girls learn together in small groups, while grades six through eight learn in single gender classes. The Middle School curriculum includes an emphasis on experience-based learning: students participate in hands-on projects and intensive class discussions that help build critical and creative thinking skills.


Teach 4 to 5 English classes per day (grammar, vocabulary, writing, literature). Successfully engage and develop student’s interest and enthusiasm for the subject matter. Serve as an advisor to 8-10 students. Participate in extra/co-curricular program as a coach or club supervisor.


  • A love for educating Middle School age students
  • A minimum of 3 years teaching English and advising experience with Middle School age students, preferably in an independent day/boarding, college preparatory, and similar school culture and values
  • Interest in being an active member of The Masters School community, such as advising, student life, leading a student club, or coach of a team
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a English or related discipline; advanced degree preferred
