News From Masters
Senior boys’ tennis standout Oren Vasser held a signing ceremony in front of family, friends, coaches and administrators on Tuesday afternoon in the Fonseca Center’s Sharon Room.
Vasser — a highly sought-after Division 1 recruit — will continue his career at the College of William & Mary next year.
“Even when I was competing at outside tournaments, it felt like I was still representing Masters,” said Vasser, who plays on the United States Tennis Association (USTA) circuit. “I felt honored to be able to do this while representing Masters and while playing varsity. I’ve had such a great time playing in a Masters shirt, but unfortunately I’m going to have to switch. Thanks to everyone who has supported me.”
Girls’ varsity tennis coach Greg Lesser delivered prepared remarks on behalf of boys’ varsity tennis coach Brian Inglis, who was unable to be in attendance.
“Oren has dedicated much of his young adult life to the sport of tennis and has worked hard for every accomplishment that he has achieved,” Lesser read from Inglis’ statement. “I think he made a fantastic choice with William & Mary and I believe he will be an integral part of their team for years to come.”
