Posted 02/22/2018 10:00PM

Performing for Hope, a fundraising event for a local organization, will be held on Tuesday, February 27 from 6:00-7:30 PM in the Fonseca Center’s Experimental Theater. The event is open to all members of the Masters community.

The goal of the benefit is to raise awareness about such issues as women's rights, sexual violence and domestic violence through various art forms, according to Dena Torino, Director of Community Service and Director of Residential Life. All funds from the event will go towards Hope's Door, which "seeks to end domestic violence and to empower victims to achieve safety, independence and healing from the trauma of abuse."

MISH is working with the Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) club, the Outspoken spoken word group, and others to organize the show. Tickets, which will be available for purchase at the door, will cost $5 for students and $10 for adults.
