The Annual Fund

To ensure that our 677 students have all they need to pursue a transformative education, every year, our community comes together to sustain our programs by supporting the Annual Fund.

The Annual Fund ensures that every student is taught by expert faculty in classrooms equipped with 21st-century technology, and that students who would not otherwise be able to attend the School receive financial aid packages. Additionally, it supplies the tools and materials that students need to fully immerse themselves in their endeavors: theater costumes and stage sets, sports equipment and uniforms, art supplies, a state-of-the-art robotics lab and so much more.

The 2017-18 Annual Fund began on July 1, 2017 and will run through June 30, 2018. Building on the success of last year's Annual Fund, where more than 2,000 generous supporters raised over $2.25 million for the School, the 2017-18 Annual Fund aims to raise $2.3 million for the essential programs that our students rely on every day.

Participating in the Annual Fund is a valuable way to show your support for Masters and provide tangible benefits for our students. Gifts of all amount are welcome, appreciated, and most importantly, needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Annual Fund?

When Eliza Bailey Masters founded The Masters School in 1877, her mission was to educate each student “to be a power for good in the world.” One hundred and thirty-nine years later, we are proud to carry on Miss Masters’ tradition, and to do so we rely on the generosity of alumnae/i, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends of the School to sustain and enrich our programs.

As with most independent schools, the cost of educating each Masters student exceeds the tuition, and so each year we count on our alumnae/i, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends to span the 6 percent gap between tuition and the operating budget. Participating in the Annual Fund is an investment in essential areas of school life: faculty professional development, academic programs, financial aid, the arts, athletics, innovation programs, and more.
