Fonseca Fest Features Student Performing Groups

Community members came out to sample music, dance and theatrical performances by Masters' student-run performing groups during the Fonseca Fest on Friday, May 25 in the Fonseca Center.

The Fest included performances by Cabaret Troupe, Dohters, 49 Clinton, Muse, Outspoken, Phoenix, Positive Rhythm, Salty Dogs, The Naturals, and Urban Connection. The groups performed throughout the Fonseca Center, including the Experimental Theater, Morris Recital Hall, the Davis Café, the gym and the squash courts.

Also featured during the event was the Senior Art Exhibit, with numerous artworks on display in Wenberg Gallery. The exhibit continues through June 8.

The Fonseca Fest was the first spring performing arts showcase for the School's student-directed performing groups.

"By consolidating the performances into one extravaganza, the aim is to maximize the audience, Department of Performing Arts support, financial support, and technical support — and to create something entirely unique to performances at Masters," says Jennifer Carnevale, Chair of the Department of Performing Arts. "This is the first year, but our hope is to make this the must-see, must-experience event of future years."
