Varsity Girls' Basketball Squad on Fire

It has been over a month since the varsity girls' basketball squad last tasted defeat. The red-hot Panthers extended their winning streak to eight games following a convincing 78-49 victory over Rye Country Day School (RCDS) on Thursday, January 24.

"We started off slow, but now we are on a roll," sophomore standout Brooke Tatarian said. "We started to play together as a team — and we just need to keep playing as well as we are playing."

Against RCDS, Pace University-bound senior Kendra Cooper-Smith poured in a game-high 25 points to power the offense. Tatarian added 23 points and junior Gwenn Sabato chipped in with 20.

Masters also recorded victories over Léman Prep, Portledge, Notre Dame, Holy Child, Greens Farms Academy, King's Christian and Greenwich Academy during the eight-game stretch.

The Panthers (10-4) will host St. Luke's in a showdown of top Fairchester Athletic Association squads on Tuesday, January 29, at 4:45 PM. If you are unable to attend the game in person, we will be offering a livestream at this link.
