Seniors Garden With Their Might

Members of the Class of 2020 flaunted their green thumbs on Wednesday, October 16.

The seniors gathered in the circle in front of Masters Hall and planted 400 daffodil bulbs to beautify the campus and leave a permanent mark on the School.

During the hourlong bonding activity, students learned the basics of bulb planting and, after doing a bit of gardening, enjoyed some hot cider and apple cider donuts. Zia Foxhall ’20 said that the activity couldn’t have come at a better time, as the beginning of senior year can be particularly stressful: “A lot of us are really high strung right now, and this is a nice break to be all together, doing something fun.” Fellow senior Marina Shishkina agreed, noting that “It was really nice to get together with all the seniors. I thought it was very wholesome.”

The yellow and white daffodils will have their first bloom in several months, welcoming all who come to campus with a splash of color. And, since the flowers bloom every year, the seniors’ hard work will be on display each spring for years to come.
