Students Spend Day Immersed In French Culture

Upper school French students were treated to a day of French culture on Thursday, January 23.

The group of approximately 70 students traveled to Stamford, Connecticut, to take in the critically acclaimed, award-winning film “Les Drapeux de papier” and enjoy French cuisine at Chez Vous Bistro.

The day was a fully immersive cultural experience; in addition to the film screening and French lunch, students were tasked with only speaking French from the time they boarded the bus until they returned to school. “What’s so impressive about the day is the effort all the students make to be ‘in French mode’ (as one student put it),” Chair of the Department of Modern and Classical Languages Richard Simon said. “We hope that the day excites them to continue along the beautiful path of Francophonie!”
