Masters and Brock Team Up to Donate Food to Local Pantries

On a typical school day, approximately 1,000 students, faculty and staff head to the dining hall to enjoy meals prepared by Brock & Company, the School’s food service provider.

But students are learning remotely due to the COVID-19 health crisis, and that unused food is now being put to good use.

With a variety of shelf-stable perishable items sitting idle, The Masters School leadership and Brock managers decided to donate food to area pantries and kitchens. “We know that this precious resource, when placed in food pantries and kitchens, can offer the help that is sorely needed,” Brock’s General Manager Lee Bergelson said. “We are pairing up with these local help centers to achieve that mission.”

Together, Masters and Brock are donating items ranging from beans, potatoes and tomato sauce to cereals, pasta and beverages. In total, Brock and Masters have donated approximately 3,300 pounds of food, with a recent donation to the Hastings Food Pantry clocking in at over 900 pounds. Another shipment of approximately 1,000 pounds will be delivered in the coming days.
