Athletics Department Hosts Virtual Signing Ceremony

Seven senior athletes will continue their respective careers this fall at the collegiate level.

The students — Taha Dinana (University of Virginia, squash); Dorian Gilmartin (Colby College, track and field); Noemia Massingue (College of Staten Island, basketball); August Peterson (St. Lawrence University, baseball); Gwenn Sabato (East Stroudsburg University, basketball); Garrett Wenberg (Bates College, squash); Nouran Youssef (Trinity College, squash) — were honored during a virtual signing ceremony on Friday, May 22.

"We are truly excited to be here to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of these seven very special athletes," Director of Athletics and Physical Education Logan Condon said at the start of the ceremony. "For those who don't know, roughly 7 percent of high school athletes continue to play on collegiately. We are incredibly proud of Taha, Dorian, Noemia, Auggie, Gwenn, Garrett and Nouran. The amount of long hours, hard work and dedication that you all have shown toward your craft is truly inspirational. As a community, we are so excited for you. And, most importantly, all seven of you are incredibly strong students, active community members and you live the Masters mission of being a power for good."

Head of School Laura Danforth echoed Condon's sentiments.

"I just want to say how proud I am of each and every one of you," Danforth said. "What an honor it has been for me to be your head of school and watch you compete, watch you lead through compassion and to be incredible role models for others that have looked up to you. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart."

The event also included short pre-recorded messages from coaches and a chance for each athlete to make a brief statement.
