Holiday Drive to Raise Funds Begins

Making a difference is what matters most to students involved in the organization Masters Interested in Sharing and Helping, or MISH.

Their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive for Children’s Village in Dobbs Ferry has begun but because of COVID-19 restrictions, the ask is for monetary donations only. Children’s Village is a local nonprofit organization that works closely with thousands of young people so that they become educationally proficient, economically independent and socially responsible members of their communities.

"Many people do not realize, but food insecurity is a major issue here in the greater New York City area, and it has only worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic. I hope that our community can come together and contribute all we can, so that families are able to put meals on the table as we near the Thanksgiving holiday," said Logan Schiciano ’21.

Organizers have made it easy to make a contactless donation on the MISH website via credit card, Apple Pay or Venmo. They will be accepting donations through Sunday, November 15.

For added incentive, upper school students, families and faculty advisors should donate here to enter a competition to see which grade raises the most money. Middle school students, families and other faculty members can donate here.

“Masters has a long-standing connection and tradition with the nearby Children’s Village to help them with their Thanksgiving meal celebration. It’s so important this year more than ever to give back and to express gratitude. Any sum you can give is appreciated,” said Rachel Solomon ’21.
