In the pouring rain back in 2017, Panton welcomed every middle school student arriving on the first day of school. Panton’s joy and enthusiasm made the driving rain seem like an afterthought. It had such an impact on the children — especially those who were new to the School. They instantly felt welcomed and safe. That is the kind of person Panton was and what he meant to our community.

Mourning the Loss of a Cherished Friend and Colleague

The Masters family has sadly said goodbye to one of its own. After a courageous battle, Panton Adams died from complications related to COVID-19 on the morning of Monday, February 1.

Adams joined The Masters School as a member of the security department eight years ago, in February 2013. His gentle spirit, caring ways, and love and dedication to the students and the School community made him a beloved and familiar face to all. He will be greatly missed.

“Panton represented the embodiment of our School’s mission. A true ‘power for good,’ he greeted students and teachers by name every morning with a warm and welcoming smile and radiated joy in all that he did,” said Head of School Laura Danforth. “Panton made every member of our School community feel safe, valued and cared for. Even as we grieve Panton’s loss, the love and light of his memory remain an enduring source of comfort and solace.”

Adams, who was 64 years old, leaves behind his wife Crecencia and two daughters, to whom he was a loving, doting father.
