The Writing Center is a peer-to-peer writing resource available to all Upper School students.
Supervised by two faculty members, the tutoring staff is comprised of some 45 juniors and seniors, including a cohort of experienced lead tutors. These students engage in extensive training and can support their peers with writing assigned in all subjects and at all stages of the writing process.

As Masters School students themselves, peer tutors have grappled with lab reports for science classes, world history research papers, and many English essays. They can offer their peers empathy as well as guidance. Peer tutors are especially skilled at listening closely, asking thoughtful questions, and supporting the writer's own hopes and vision for their work.

The Writing Center offers individual sessions — both by appointment and drop-in — throughout the school day and during evening study hall hours. All Upper School students are welcome.
