  • Online Enrollment and Billing Information

    The Masters School utilizes a secure electronic enrollment process and partners with FACTS for electronic billing and payments. FACTS offers online features, including real-time payment, billing, and balance information to help our families manage their education bills. To register your student, please visit The Masters School Pay Plan Sign-Up.

    A $30 charge will be assessed each time a check presented in payment of a student's account is not honored by the bank. If the returned check was the means of meeting a payment deadline, the deadline will not be considered met and the appropriate late charges will be applied.

  • Tuition Payment Plans

    Annual One-Payment Plan
    This payment plan offers families the option of paying the entire year's tuition and any fees by July 31, 2021.

    Annual Two-Payment Plan
    This payment plan requires families to pay 50% of tuition and any fees by July 31, 2021, and the balance of tuition and any additional fees incurred by November 30, 2021 - with no interest or other charges.

    Monthly Payment Plan
    The Masters School Monthly Payment Plan, administered by FACTS, is a convenient budget plan that divides tuition costs into 10 interest-free installments for one low fee. Payments on this plan begin May 1, 2021, and are completed in February 2022. Enrollment in the FACTS ten-month payment plan must be completed before July 31, 2021.

  • Tuition Refund Plan

    Participation in the Dewar Tuition Refund Plan is recommended. If a student withdraws from The Masters School, the Tuition Refund Plan will pay benefits (subject to its terms, conditions and limitations, and based on the amount insured) to the School, which provides substantial assistance in meeting a family’s financial obligation to the School. The Tuition Refund Plan insures the tuition payments due for a premium of 1.15% of tuition. Affording Masters

The Masters School is committed to making an exceptional education accessible to a diverse community of students.
We recognize that a Masters education is a significant investment in your child’s future, and we are dedicated to helping as many families as possible afford this educational choice. Masters has a robust financial aid budget. 25% of the student body receives financial aid, which totals more than $6 million. In addition to our generous need-based financial program, we offer several tuition payment options, outlined above.

Applying for Financial Aid

To be considered for need-based financial aid, returning families must complete an application by December 15 and new families must complete an application by January 5. We will communicate financial aid decisions with your admission notification (new families) or re-enrollment contract (returning families).
 
The Masters School uses School and Student Services (SSS), a service of the National Association of Independent Schools, to process financial aid applications. Based on the financial information you provide, SSS forwards the Parents' Financial Statement as well as your Report of Family Contribution, which estimates the amount that a family can contribute to educational expenses. Our Financial Aid Committee uses SSS as a guide to help us make fair and equitable financial aid decisions.

To begin your financial aid application for the 2022-2023 enrollment year, please read our Financial Aid Policy and then follow the steps below.

  1. Click the prompt to begin your Parents' Financial Statement (PFS). You only need to complete one PFS even if you have several children applying to our school. The Masters School code is 4948.
  2. You will be given a username and password that will allow you to return to your PFS at a later date before submitting it. Your information will be secure.
  3. You will be given instructions about submitting backup documents. We require your two most recent tax returns and your PFS.
Note: If you apply for financial aid online, your information will be delivered accurately, quickly and securely to our School, allowing us to make a quicker decision about your eligibility for financial aid.

Financial Aid Application Check List:

  1. Complete the Parents' Financial Statement (Masters' PFS Code: 4948)
  2. Provide most current tax returns, W2 form (two years for new applicants), end-of-year bank statements and pay stubs. International families must submit the International Student Financial Aid Profile, proof of income, end-of-year bank statement(s) and end-of-year pay stub(s). We also request that international families that submit tax documents provide those.

  • How does our family apply for
    financial aid?

    Families who are interested in receiving financial aid must submit a financial aid application and supporting documents annually by the required deadline of December 15 for returning families and January 5 for new families. 

    These required documents consist of your two most recent tax returns, a Personal Financial Statement (PFS) submitted through the School and Student Services for Financial Aid (SSS) website: www.solutionsbysss.com/parents (school code of 4948). 

    The Admission Office is available to help with the completion of these forms. Please call 914-479-6413 for assistance.
  • When will our family know if we
    are offered financial aid?

    New families will be notified in their admission decision letter. Returning families receive financial aid offers with re-enrollment contracts.
  • Will our family be offered the same
    amount of financial aid each year?

    All families participating in financial aid are required to file and complete an application through SSS and submit tax declarations each year. Unless there has been a significant change in a family’s finances, Masters strives to maintain the level of financial aid based on demonstrated need until a child graduates.
  • If we enter the School without
    financial aid, can we apply for aid later?

    It is the School’s expectation that families paying full tuition will continue to do so unless they can demonstrate a significant change in their circumstances. New applications for financial aid for returning families will be considered by the Financial Aid Committee. However, the Committee cannot guarantee that an offer will be made.

The application for returning families is due December 15. You will be notified of the Financial Aid Committee’s decision with your re-enrollment contract.
  • May we appeal a financial aid decision?

    Families may request a second review of their financial aid offer by initiating an appeal process. The written request must be submitted to Associate Director of Admission and Financial Aid Officer Fitima Pelaez at fitima.pelaez@mastersny.org and should provide additional detailed information or changes that have transpired since the initial evaluation.
  • Are international students eligible for financial aid?

    Yes, international students who demonstrate need are eligible for financial aid providing all required financial aid documentation is submitted. International families must submit official proof of income if they do not file U.S. tax forms.
  • Does The Masters School offer a tuition payment plan?

  • What additional costs does Masters'
    financial aid program cover other than tuition?

    Masters applies the same percentage of financial aid that a family receives to the cost of textbooks, academic and athletic team trips, and music lessons.

Scholarships

The Masters School awards some merit scholarships during the admission process. There is no separate application required for these scholarships; all applicants are automatically considered. The Admission Committee takes into account each student’s academic achievements, character, meaningful involvement in extracurricular activities, athletic accomplishments, demonstrated leadership, and/or special talents when determining who should receive an award. Masters thanks the many alumnae/i, parents and friends who have established named scholarships with gifts to the endowment.
