The Masters School welcomes applications for faculty positions all year. A majority of available teaching and administrative positions become known in February and March of each year. The most advantageous time to submit applications is in the December – March timeframe. Candidates should send a cover letter and resume to careers@mastersny.org.

  • Faculty Positions

    Upper School Mathematics Teacher
    Masters seeks a Mathematics teacher that is passionate about math as a discipline and about teaching as a craft. The candidate that is selected for this role will join a dynamic, collaborative math department and will have the opportunity to teach a range of courses, based on interest and departmental need.

    Director of Learning Enhancement and Development
    This position is charged with facilitating our school-wide approach to learning and academic support. In close collaboration with the Middle School and Upper School Learning Specialists and the Division Heads, this person will coordinate academic support for students with identified learning differences and for internally identified students who may benefit from additional supports.

    English/English Language Learner Teacher

    The Masters School’s Upper School English Department seeks a skilled educator to teach a range of English courses. In addition to teaching a junior or senior-level Literature seminar each semester, this position provides an opportunity for an educator with TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) background to design and implement curriculum for Masters’ English language learners.
     
    Middle School Mathematics Teacher
    Masters seeks a Mathematics teacher that is passionate about math as a discipline and is eager to teach middle-school aged children. The candidate that is selected for this role will join a team of experienced math teachers. This position offers ample opportunities to design curriculum that will inspire students.

    Middle School Spanish Teacher (part-time)
    The Masters School seeks a skilled educator to teach middle school Spanish classes. Ideal candidates will be native or near-native Spanish speakers and will have experience working with young people. This part-time position offers the opportunity to engage students in learning Spanish in student-centered classrooms.

    Entrepreneurship, Engineering and Computer Science Teacher, Middle School
    The Masters School seeks a flexible, creative educator who can inspire and motivate young people to learn more about entrepreneurship, the design process, and computers.  In a variety of classes and co-curriculars, this teacher will introduce students to a range of innovative practices and entrepreneurial skills, including design thinking, application creation, introductory coding, robotics and related concepts.

    Upper School Chinese Language Teacher
    The Masters School Modern and Classical Languages Department seeks a skilled educator to teach a range of Mandarin Chinese classes. Ideal candidates will be excited by the prospect of playing an active role in a strong department that bridges two divisions.

    Department Chair, English
    The Masters School seeks an accomplished educator to serve as the next Upper School English Department Chair. Building on the department’s strengths, the incoming Chair will have the opportunity to collaborate with a talented team of 11 teachers and a fantastic student body.

    School Counselor (Sabbatical Leave Replacement)
    This one-year sabbatical replacement position will work closely with the Director of Health Services and the Dean of Students Office to coordinate appropriate care and counseling services for students and to provide direct, one-on-one counseling services. The School Counselor also will serve as an advisor to faculty and administration and will support outreach programs for the various student and parent populations.

    Theater Technical Director and Performance Facilities Coordinator
    The Masters School seeks a skilled Technical Director for the Department of Performing Arts. The Technical Director is responsible for safely and effectively designing, coordinating and implementing all technical elements (scenery, sound and lighting) for Department of Performing Arts productions, as well as technical support for other school-wide events in performing arts spaces. The position reports to the Chair of the Department of Performing Arts.
  • Administrative/Staff Positions

     
    This is a part-time position requiring the availability to work all shifts and be on-call. Security Officers perform duties necessary to protect The Masters School property and members of the school community from harm, maintaining order and security within the school grounds.

    Director of Campus Safety
    Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Director of School Safety coordinates safety and security measures throughout the campus and establish appropriate procedures and plans to ensure safe and secure school facilities. This position must display the highest ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school.

    Security Officer
    This is a full-time position. Hours: 12:00 am - 8:30 am. Security Officers perform duties necessary to protect The Masters School property and members of the school community from harm, maintaining order and security within the school grounds.

  • CITYterm

    Residential Mathematics Teacher
    CITYterm at the Masters School seeks a full time, residential Math Teacher starting in August, 2019. This position is a ten-month, paid teaching position that includes housing. This teacher will lead three sections of high school math (could include classes in Probability & Statistics, Algebra II/Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus and/or Calculus) for 11th and 12th grade students.

    Residential Urban Core Teacher
    CITYterm at the Masters School seeks a full time, residential Urban Core teacher to be part of an interdisciplinary teaching team. This position reports to CITYterm’s Director and is a ten-month, paid teaching position that includes housing. Ideally, this position will be filled by someone willing to make a three-year minimum commitment.
