The Masters School welcomes applications for faculty positions all year. A majority of available teaching and administrative positions become known in February and March of each year. The most advantageous time to submit applications is in the December – March timeframe. Candidates should send a cover letter and resume to careers@mastersny.org.

  • Faculty Positions

    Upper School English/English Language Learner Teacher
    The Upper School English Department at The Masters School seeks a teacher for immediate hire for the remainder of the year. This position offers candidates the chance to work with a fantastic student body who are eager to build their skills as readers, writers and learners. Ideal candidates will have TESOL experience or will have international/cross-cultural teaching experiences. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with a demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion, within and outside the classroom.

    Middle School Science Teacher

    The Masters School seeks an educator with a passion for Science and an equally strong understanding of middle school students and how they learn. Preference will be given to candidates with the flexibility to teach a range of Science courses; there may be opportunities for teaching Earth/Life Science, Biology, and Physical Science. Next year this teacher will most likely teach Biology (7th grade) and potentially Physical Science (8th grade).

    Upper School Theater Teacher
    The Masters School Department of Performing Arts seeks a dynamic Acting Teacher/Director to teach upper school students in a variety of courses – ranging from an introductory acting course to directing.

    Middle School Mathematics Teacher
    Masters seeks a Mathematics teacher that is passionate about math as a discipline and is eager to teach middle-school aged children. The candidate that is selected for this role will join a team of experienced math teachers. This position offers ample opportunities to design curriculum that will inspire students.

    Middle School Innovation, Engineering and Computer Science Teacher
    The Masters School seeks a flexible, creative educator who can inspire and motivate young people to learn more about entrepreneurship, the design process, and computers. In a variety of classes and co-curriculars, this teacher will introduce students to a range of innovative practices and entrepreneurial skills, including design thinking, application creation/introductory coding, robotics and related concepts.
  • Administrative/Staff Positions

    Director of Athletics and Physical Education
    The Masters School seeks a Director of Athletics and Physical Education; this is a twelve-month, administrative position. This role will report to the Head of School.
    The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with substantial experience as the successful head of a large and complex athletics program that includes interscholastic team sports, recreational and co-curricular sports, and a physical education program. Candidates must have experience managing significant budgets and operations, including oversight of the athletic staff, office support staff, coaches and game officials. 

    Dean of Faculty
    The Masters School seeks a Dean of Faculty; this is a twelve-month, administrative position. This role will report to the Head of School. The Dean of the Faculty is responsible for fostering a culture of student-centered teaching and learning at The Masters School. As an academic leader, the Dean of Faculty is responsible for articulating The Masters School’s educational philosophy and for ensuring the faculty’s pedagogical approaches are aligned with the educational philosophy. 

    Annual Fund Manager
    The Annual Fund is the School’s only yearly fundraising initiative that reaches out to all of our constituents. The Annual Fund Manager’s primary responsibility is supporting the growth of The Masters School’s Annual Fund which raised over $2.4 million in 2017-18.

    Administrative Assistant to College Counseling Team
    The role of the Administrative Assistant to College Counseling Team is to provide support to the Team, as well as serve as the welcoming face of the College Counseling Office. The role requires meticulous maintenance of our office database and workspace, coordination and execution of the Advanced Placement exams, as well as management and distribution of office communications with the various Masters School constituencies.
    This is a part time position requiring the availability to work all shifts and be on-call. Security Officers perform duties necessary to protect The Masters School property and members of the school community from harm, maintaining order and security within the school grounds.
