Masters Teams Ready for Fall Campaign

Masters athletes were hard at work throughout a two-week preseason that began August 24. The various teams — soccer, field hockey, volleyball, cross-country and tennis — focused on fine-tuning their chemistry, tactics and skills in preparation for the fall campaign.

“Preseason went well this year,” Director of Athletics and Physical Education Alexis Di Domenico said. “Our athletes and coaches were locked in from the start, and it was nice to see everyone working hard and having fun.”

The Panthers’ resiliency stood out the most, according to Di Domenico.

“Many of our student-athletes and coaches face adversity on a daily basis,” she said. “It’s just the nature of athletics. Our coaches are challenging our athletes to work to their fullest potential. Our athletes have been taking each challenge head-on while learning how to navigate setbacks.”

Now entering the third week of September, the fall season is kicking into high gear. Masters’ athletes will look to make every moment on the fields and courts count as they put their hard work into action.

“The goal is always for every athlete to feel proud when they put on a Masters uniform,” Di Domenico said. “That pride is contagious and inevitably makes its way throughout our school community. There’s nothing better than seeing packed sidelines in a sea of purple!”
