Jay Smith currently serves as boys varsity assistant basketball coach, where he also coaches JV volleyball and middle school volleyball and basketball. Outside of Masters, Smith is the Middle School Director for the NY Renaissance/Rens United AAU program. With more than a decade of experience in coaching and player development, including coaching at the AA level in the Catholic High School Athletic Association, he leads the Rens United 17U team on the Nike EYBL circuit and oversees the program’s middle school pipeline. He has hosted basketball camps in Italy and Singapore.
Smith previously coached at Rye Country Day School, Monsignor Scanlan High School, and Iona Prep, contributing to the development and success of athletes across multiple competitive environments.
A 2004 graduate of SUNY New Paltz, Smith is known for developing disciplined, competitive, high-IQ teams and helping athletes grow on the court, in the classroom and at the next level.
