Joey Kuhl is a dedicated basketball coach with a wealth of experience across various levels of the sport. He began his coaching journey with the Austin Spurs, the G-League affiliate of the San Antonio Spurs, as an intern, video coordinator and assistant coach. This foundational experience allowed him to develop a keen eye for player development and game strategy, contributing to the growth of numerous athletes.

Following his tenure with the Spurs, Kuhl took on the role of assistant coach at the Air Force Academy, where he helped enhance the program's competitiveness. He has also held coaching positions at Texas Tech University and Iona University, further expanding his expertise and understanding of the game from some of the collegiate level’s best coaches. 
 
Since 2022, Kuhl has served as the varsity boys head coach at Masters, leading the team to its first playoff appearance in seven years during the 2023-24 season. He is particularly proud of the program's recent success in placing players in college basketball programs for two consecutive years, reflecting his commitment to player development and mentoring.
 
With a passion for the game and a focus on fostering talent, Kuhl continues to inspire and elevate young athletes, preparing them for challenges both on and off the court.

Jay Smith currently serves as boys varsity assistant basketball coach, where he also coaches JV volleyball and middle school volleyball and basketball. Outside of Masters, Smith is the Middle School Director for the NY Renaissance/Rens United AAU program. With more than a decade of experience in coaching and player development, including coaching at the AA level in the Catholic High School Athletic Association, he leads the Rens United 17U team on the Nike EYBL circuit and oversees the program’s middle school pipeline. He has hosted basketball camps in Italy and Singapore.

Smith previously coached at Rye Country Day School, Monsignor Scanlan High School, and Iona Prep, contributing to the development and success of athletes across multiple competitive environments.

A 2004 graduate of SUNY New Paltz, Smith is known for developing disciplined, competitive, high-IQ teams and helping athletes grow on the court, in the classroom and at the next level.

Jack Stevens is in his fourth year at Masters and his third season as the boys varsity basketball assistant coach. He works primarily with the forwards and centers, drawing on his own playing experience to support player development. Stevens is also head coach for the varsity golf team.

A member of the admission office, Stevens serves as the senior associate director of boarding admission, as well as an advisor and dorm parent. After attending a New England boarding school for three years, he played Division I basketball at the College of the Holy Cross and is a graduate of Cornell University. Prior to joining Masters, Stevens was a faculty member and coach at Cardigan Mountain School, a junior boarding school in New Hampshire.
