Panther Fans Pack the Den at Girls' Basketball Game

The stands were full of roaring fans on Tuesday, January 29, as parents and students packed the den for the girls' varsity basketball game against St. Luke’s.

Though the Panthers fell to St. Luke’s, that didn’t stop the enthusiastic crowd from cheering with their might. Jackson Stanich ’19 who is co-president of the Dobbs Athletic Association (DAA) along with Kendra Cooper-Smith ’19, said that having fans cheering from the sideline has a positive impact on the players: “It makes you run a little faster and jump a little higher.”

Parents, too, got into the school spirit and joined students for this Pack the Den. Jen Nappo P’21, ’23, ’23, who chairs the Parent Association’s parent programs, said that Tuesday was a “wonderful collaboration of students, faculty and parents showcasing tremendous school spirit. The involvement of the PA provides the opportunity for parents to socialize and support our students in a fun and enjoyable way.”

Parents and students will have another opportunity to get in the school spirit at a Pack the Den at the varsity boys' basketball senior game against King School on Wednesday, February 6, at 5:00 PM and a Pack the Pool at the varsity boys' swimming against Brunswick School on Wednesday, February 6, at 4:30 PM.

We will be looking for parent volunteers for Spirit Week in the spring. Please stay tuned for additional details.
