Lucas Buyon '11
Lucas Buyon ‘11 is s a member of the Fundamental Equities team at the D. E. Shaw Group, where he applies his analytical and research expertise to inform the firm’s investment strategies.
Lucas earned his Ph.D. at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where he studied the epidemiology and molecular basis of drug resistance in the malaria-causing parasite Plasmodium vivax. During his time at Harvard, he also worked extensively on projects to improve student civic engagement. Previously, Lucas was a Presidential Management Fellow at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, focusing on policy related to pandemic prevention and biosecurity. He holds a master of science in infectious disease epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and a B.A. from Emory University.
