Shomari Moore served as the head coach for boys and girls varsity fencing for the past three years at Masters, where his leadership and technical expertise have made a significant impact on the fencing program. With over 12 years of coaching experience, Moore has worked with athletes of all ages and levels.
In 2023, under his leadership, The Masters School earned gold medals in both the girls’ and boys’ epee team events. In 2024, he followed this success by guiding both squads to silver, further solidifying his reputation as a dedicated and highly effective coach.
Moore began his fencing journey at a young age, quickly showing a natural talent and deep passion for the sport. As a competitor, he became an NCAA qualifier, a North American Cup (NAC) medalist, and represented the United States in multiple international events—establishing himself among the nation’s elite fencers.
He is also deeply committed to giving back to the fencing community. He has volunteered with the Peter Westbrook Foundation and “Fencing in the Parks,” an initiative offering free fencing classes to under-resourced communities in Brooklyn.
