Marce Marquez, a native of Mexico, is in her third year coaching squash at Masters, where she also serves as an upper school Spanish teacher and dorm parent. A four-year collegiate squash player at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Marquez represented Mexico during her junior career, and won a team gold medal at the Junior Pan American Games. She began her coaching career seven years ago at Bay Club San Francisco and continues to play recreationally while coaching both the girls varsity and JV squash teams at Masters.

Since 2018, John Boyer has served as head coach of the boys varsity squash team at Masters, where he also teaches upper school physics.

A Washington, D.C. native, he took up squash as a graduate student and has played recreationally ever since. Boyer continues to play club squash and competes in select tournaments, bringing his love of the game both to his own play and to his work with student-athletes.

Diane Scott, who has been coaching for over 20 years, joined the Masters community in 2018. At Masters she has coached middle and upper school girls’ and boys’ volleyball, track and squash, and JV girls’ basketball. Previously, Coach Scott was the head varsity volleyball and assistant varsity track coach at New Rochelle High School. She has also coached 13U club volleyball and volunteers her time as a coach and board member of All Yonkers Youth Athletics.  She earned a B.S. in education from Concordia College while playing NCAA Division II volleyball and has an M.S. in sport leadership from Endicott College.

This is Paul Szaniawski’s second year coaching squash at Masters, working with both middle and upper school students. Szaniawski played competitive squash in college and also has international playing experience. His coaching philosophy comes from working with several top 10-ranked players over the past decade as well as nationally recognized coaches and fitness experts. He has worked as a private coach in Westchester and Fairfield counties for the past seven years and has spent time training in Egypt.
